Yeah, I agree with maintaining a modicum of decorum. There are other fora out there for me to indulge my capacity for colorful language.

The TOS do call for not using ad-blocking software. Wow, I double-checked and it is true. I'll turn Adblock Plus off for this site, then. But, honestly, my computer was built in 2005 and while it has max RAM installed, I've only upgraded the graphics card to the bare minimum needed to play Champions Online. If the ads start jacking with my system performance, I'm turning Adblock Plus right back on. Then we'll see how long it takes for ProBoards to ban me. Otherwise, I'm really appreciating what you're doing here, Chris. Thanks for going out of your way like this.

Can the boards even tell? I know some sites will tell me I need to disable ad-blocking software, but this site has thus far not done so, and I don't even see any ads when in my unprotected IE browser or when I set adblock to allow ads for this site. Maybe corporate firewall is blocking them? I see the "click here to remove banner ads" but... don't see any banner ads, and I don't have ad-block or any extensions installed at work

We're in a banner ad free honeymoon period right now, and I think that on February 4 they'll show up.

Yeah, no F-bombs, etc. sounds good. I generally prefer them, but for the most part I refrained from them on "the other board" out of respect to the majority. JG

I was kinda hoping for a no Ketchup on Hotdogs rule but that would be crossing a line I think..... ~Rex They would have to ban me right away then. I am a Ketchup/Mustard/Onions on Hotdogs kind of woman. You should be banned. Everyone knows it's Dijon mustard/onions/cheese on hot dogs. Anything else is barbarous.

New rule: absolutely no discussion of electoral politics, including for or against any candidate or ballot position. Violating this rule will result in an instant and permanent ban with no warning.

Pursuant to the above, the names of the major party candidates are subject to automatic censorship by the board software.

New rule: No edition warring. "I like edition X because..." is okay. "Edition X sucks because..." is not.

I don't want the board to devolve into online slap fights.
When I made the no-politics rule, I was taking a break from Facebook because of the political discussion. Almost exactly two years after that, I took another break because of the political discussion. I haven't gotten back on Facebook yet, even though there are communities I'd like to take part in -- including the Hero Games discussion over there.
There's not much discussion here, probably because the official Hero boards and the Facebook group siphon off most of it. I want this to stay fun; mainly for me, but also for the people I'd like to talk with and for the kinds of discussions I'd like to take part in.
I don't want to see long discussions where people talk about how other people's favorite thing sucks.
