So far the rules are:
1. Be excellent to each other.
2. Party on, dudes.
I'm not going to be a rule master or control freak, but reserve the right to add rules as necessary.
Updated to current list of rules:
3. Don't make me have to make new rules.
4. Discussion of electoral politics, including advocacy for or against a political candidate, ballot measure, initiative, and so on, is grounds for immediate and permanent ban.
5. No edition warring. "I like edition X because..." is okay. "Edition Y sucks because..." is not.

I was kinda hoping for a no Ketchup on Hotdogs rule but that would be crossing a line I think.....

Also, the ProBoards folks have the good sense to link the Terms of Service at the bottom of every forum page. (Unlike certain other forum admins.) So we've got lots of rules, and nobody can say they didn't know where to find them.
I gave them a quick once over, and I'd recommend everyone do the same. "TL:DR" is not your friend.

The TOS do call for not using ad-blocking software. I don't have any way to enforce that that I'm aware of, but just be aware. As part of choosing ProBoards forum hosting we get two weeks with no banner ads, so I have no idea how intrusive they might be. Just FYI, the two weeks should be over on February 4, so we'll see what they're like then.

Basically use Wheaton's Law "Don't be a Dick" Oh, I also wanted to point out... this applies to me too. If I am being one, I hope people will point it out.

And no posting about the unofficial board on the official board. I... actually don't have a problem from my end if people do. Be aware that on the official boards it's at your own risk, though. But if people want to put a link to here in their signatures over there, my feelings would not be hurt. For that matter, I don't want anyone here feeling like it has to be "us vs. them". If you want to keep reading and posting over there, by all means. I likely will myself. Or not, if you don't want to.

Yeah, if I am getting out of hand, please let me know. So I can step away and get my stuff back together PS What are our rules about profanity and swearing? Should we be keeping it PG13 (aka No F-Bombs, the C words and other ultimate weapon words)?

Yeah, I've spent far too much time on forums (fora?) where they allow/encourage that sort of thing.
They tend to be internet cesspools.
