Of all the Champions (or Guardians for pre-4th ed fans), who were your favorite Champions? Was there a solo member that stood out for you? Maybe a couple of them were really neat? Or maybe you liked the whole team from one of the editions? I'll post mine in a bit, but I'm wondering who everyone else liked.

I liked the team from 1st-3rd editions, until the comic books came out anyway.

I liked the team from 1st-3rd editions, until the comic books came out anyway. I thought that the team on the cover of Champions II was actually The Guardians. The Team of PC's from George MacDonald's Original Champions Campaign. They were pretty cool characters. Just ignore Dennis Mallonee pictorial fanfict that had some of the characters.

My Favorite version of The Champions is the One from Champions New Millenium.
My least favorite version is the Cryptic Champions from 6e Champions Universe.

Yup, they were originally called The Guardians (or at least last I remembered they were), but I believe they were called The Champions in the comic when it started coming out. I didn't mind the original miniseries, but the comic that came out later was progressively worse each issue.

With the exception of Seeker, I liked the 4th ed Champions the best--Solitaire particularly. Witchcraft is a bit bland to me--Solitaire had personality and some of her concepts (the box that floated around her head... Widget?) were fresh, original, and showed off what the Hero System could do.

Sign me up as a fan of the Guardians, particularly Goliath/Giant....oh and Strike Force....once 4th Ed hit...Jaguar became a favorite real quick. Made up for my dislike of Seeker. Champs New Millennium I thought was a solid rendition of a cohesive Champs universe. Had potential. Hate the Cryptic stuff.

Like I said Pictorial fanfic using the Characters that appeared in the Campaigns. Heroic Publishing wasn't ever part of Hero Games. He just briefly had a licence to use the Name on his comic and rights from the owners of the various Guardians PCs to use their characters. Rights that some of the creators of the PC's seemed to revoke at some point (which is why The Marksman was renamed The Huntsman and had a costume color change). Rights issues was also why The Guardians were never the "Official Superhero Team for Champions".

I kinda liked them all in their way. They were each representative of their times. I suppose if I absolutely had to pick one, I'd pick Seeker. He most reminds me that I play these games to have fun and adventure.

I think my favorite team was the 4th ed Champions. I didn't mind the C:NM team, but I think I've mentioned before how much I dug the C:NM world in general, as it seemed a bit tied to 4th ed in some ways. A while back I redesigned all of the Champions & Guardians to make a cohesive timeline between the various teams, making them one big one with a legacy of members. Honestly, I think I even redesigned many of their looks. I should dig them up sometime...

I prefer the 4th edition champions. In fact I liked them so much I did a web comic strongly based on the Champions (with slightly different names and costumes) for a while, but nobody read it except my brother and it was a crapload of work. I had 10 issues worked out in my head, then I was going to just run them through various modules that have been printed by Hero.
My version of Seeker was called Shiva and he had 4 arms. He wasn't from Australia, though.

I liked Flare the best, she was interesting. I also really liked The Black Enchantress from the adventure "The Coriolis Effect", even though she was a villain. I've used a modified version of her as a hero.

My favorite published HERO System character was, for a long time, Madam Moonlight from the 4E Golden Age of Champions. Mainly because she had a great costume design. I'm not sure I ever had a favorite Champions supergroup PC.
