So, other than MHI (which has its own forum anyway), describe what UFH campaigns you guys are running.

One of my babies is an Urban Fantasy game where the PC's are the Police/Diplomacy Corp that stands between the Non-humans (Faeries, Werewolves, Vampires etc) and the rest of humanity. It was quite fun. I'll explain more later.

Started a Grimnoir game.....gives me Pulp and Urban Fantasy in a one two punch. ~Rex.....who incorporates a strong Urban Fantasy element in his mainstream HERO game anyway....

I do as well. The difference between my UF world and My Champions Universe is that the Fae and supernaturals are still more or less hidden still. In my UF world Faerie destroyed itself in a huge war and that dumped huge parts of Faerie itself onto Earth. So yes my UF Earth is a strange and in someplaces VERY dangerous place.

While I've never ran an Urban Fantasy Hero game, I've always wanted to run something like Bill Willingham's Fables.

I'm neither running nor playing in an active game currently. UF games I've run in the past have been crazy montages of nearly every urban legend and the occult elements I could fit in: UFOs, Men in black, chupacabra, ESP, ghosts, witchcraft, the Illuminati; I even threw in the kitchen sink. It was heavily influenced by the X-Files, but with a more supernatural bent.

I'm running a game right now that's loosely based on the TV series Warehouse 13. It's not exactly UF, but it blends magic-in-the-modern-day with alternative history, hiding the truth from the public, mad science and other general High Weirdness into a sort of neo-pulpish slurry that's as much UF as it is anything else.

I would certainly say Warehouse 13 falls under Urban Fantasy. IMO fantasy doesn't have to just mean magic, elves, vampires and wizards. Super technology and mad science is fantastical as well.

W13's had a ton of artifacts that were plain magical. Put enough passion into an iconic tool and it could become magical. Magic always has consequences in w13's world so most artifacts have nasty downsides.

This may be my age showing, but what is "urban fantasy"? Is that like Harry Potter stuff, wizards in the modern world?

This may be my age showing, but what is "urban fantasy"? Is that like Harry Potter stuff, wizards in the modern world? Yes. Any fantasy elements in the modern world; sometimes it's hidden (Harry Potter, World of Darkness) and sometimes it's not (True Blood, Operation Chaos).

My gaming group is involved in Shadows Angelus IV: The Evil That Men Do. Shadows Angelus is what you get if you take Kazei 5, add in magic and Silent Mobius, and set it in the year 2130-ish.

There is a Ministry of Magic, after all.
