So this week's session was hunting down the missing girls from Gentleman Jim's school. He set this up to try to get girls off the streets, not just prostitutes but homeless girls and others who needed a hand up. The school was teaching them life skills and training for jobs so they could have a better life, and it was helping straighten out quite a few lives. Now all the girls are gone.
So the heroes head home to rest and recover from the Kong fights (and hippo bites). The next day they get a strange phone call: a cop claiming a gigantic pigeon the size of a car that swooped down and carried off a rack of fur coats. Examining the scene, the heroes find nothing but a lot of pigeon poo, but following the path the bird was spotted on, they hear screams and arrive at a perfume shop that has been robbed by... rats the size of large dogs. The Mystery Men chase the trail of crashed cars, frightened people and onlookers and spot the rats pouring down the subway entrance.
The car wouldn't fit down the tunnel entry, so the Mystery Men exit the Mysterymobile and charge down the steps. After requesting that the trains be stopped, the team follows where the rats are reported to have run - down on to the tracks. There, they are able to track the passage of a half dozen gigantic rats until the disturbed ground and huge rat tracks... stops. A scant few smaller rat tracks can be spotted nearby in mud, as if they shrank and ran away. Scouting around, Commando finds a crumbled out section of the wall where bottles of perfume, bath salts, scented soap, and the like are piled, as if cached.
The Mystery Men took up positions waiting for the perpetrators to return (here as a GM I dropped the ball, but I was really tired last night - I should have had a Subway exec show up to demand they wrap things up so the trains can get running again and be a potential hostage). From a nearby service access door, two beautiful women step, dressed like magician's assistants (fishnet stockings, top hat, tails, etc). The girls, Sophie and Claudette, try to get the cache and are interrupted by the Mystery Men.
The girls then proceed to act as coy, seductive, and sexy as humanly imaginable; they are actually low-level succubi, but that's for a later issue reveal. The heroes try to interrogate them, which the girls find hilarious, begging to be tied up and spanked, which completely puts the Mystery Men off their stride in confusion. Eventually the girls lead them up to the black van the Amazing Zanzo uses to travel with (shoddily disguised with dairy ads on the side).
Then things get complicated. Fireman is a country boy who is completely overwhelmed by pretty girls, and has several complications about doing anything they say and being a complete sucker for a pretty face. One whisper from Sophie to let them get away and he turns on the party. Meanwhile, Jaeger Nacht leaps on the delivery truck and behind it are three dobermans big as horses. All three leap into the fight. The girls get away, Jaeger gets a bit mauled, and Fireman drains END and stun out of several party members providing cover for the girls. When they are clear, he helps out the party, confusing everyone significantly.
Once the dogs are dealt with, they shrink to normal size, and the party makes a connection to a previous adventure (before I started posting here). A while back the party tangled with a bizarre attack of giant ants on the city, tearing things apart and taking them underground. The Ant Queen could only control ants, not make them big (it was a direct rip off of a scenario from the old Freedom Force computer game, which I recommend to all of you). Giant ants that turned normal upon being defeated? It must be the same guy (and it was).
So they track the girls, who are attracting quite a bit of attention and don't have much of a head start, to an old abandoned library building. Breaking in, they find Gentleman Jim's girls who were promised riches and ease to be The Amazing Zanzo's harem. And Zanzo himself, plus his lovely assistants, some giant ants, and a giant weasel are awaiting them in the abandoned library.
